Kawthar Bin Sulayem
Founder & CEO

Kawthar is an expert strategist, advisor and entrepreneur. In addition to her role as Founder and CEO of KBS Communications, she is also an Ambassador and Co-Founder of Mestaria and Founder of Fashion Fever UAE.

With more than 15 years of experience in the PR and Marketing industry, Kawthar has extensively worked across government and private sector platforms in the UAE and abroad. Her business and entrepreneurial instincts have lead her to become one of the UAE’s most sought after strategical consultants for organisations across diverse industries.

Outside of her entrepreneurial duties, Kawthar actively engages with community support programs, events and initiatives in various topics such as women empowerment and challenging social stigmas in order to help the development of human capital in the UAE. This is best exampled by her role as a breast cancer ambassador and road safety ambassador, where she’s organised and hosted events to help raise awareness and actively tackle the respective issues. Furthermore, Kawthar has notably taken part as a special guest keynote speaker at large scale events such as the UN Women’s Summit, Mother of the Nation Festival and the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Forum.


Michael Cox
Managing Director

Michael is an experienced consultant and hands-on activation specialist. In addition to his role at KBS Communications, he is also Chief Operations Officer and Co-Founder of Mestaria and Co-Founder of Fashion Fever UAE. Michael arrived in Abu Dhabi in 2010 following his Masters in Business Organisation, Strategy and Change Management at EM Lyon Grande École where his studies and work experience spanned France, Germany and the UK. With a wealth of strategic marketing, communications, and major-events experience, he oversees the entire KBS client portfolio, developing innovative concepts, masterminding strategies and delving into every possible aspect of the process.

Michael has applied his skill across a variety of international projects. With particular focus on the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, his major-event experience includes work with the likes of Formula One Management, the FIA, Shell, Scuderia Ferrari, Yas Marina Circuit, Motor Sport Business Forum, Circuit of The Americas, Bahrain International Circuit, Porsche Motorsport, Sochi Autodrom, Baku City Circuit, Instituto Ayrton Senna, Daniel Ricciardo and Tilke GmbH. Michael’s experience, knowledge and expertise make him a complete ‘all-rounder’ in the world of Formula 1.

Outside of his expertise in Formula 1, Michael is activity involved with client strategy development and implementation at home in Abu Dhabi. His diverse experience in the UAE includes work on projects, including: the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, IMKAN Properties, VPS Healthcare, Google, Manchester City Football Schools, Flash Entertainment, Al Qudra, ADNOC, Al Manara International Jewellery, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, and Shangri-La.

Cameron joined KBS Communications as a fresh graduate in 2014, following his degree from University in Public Relations and Marketing Communications.

As an Account Manager for KBS Communications, Cameron focuses on the entire communications process with English speaking media, which encompasses everything within relations, including the identification of beneficial media opportunities, the production of quality content, and the handling of communication between client and media. In addition to his primary focus of media relations, Cameron is also responsible for the overall co-ordination of events and activations. 


Aaya Abu Nahwa
account manager

Aaya joined KBS Communications in 2016 following her degree from American University of Sharjah in Mass Communications and Public Relations.

Raised in Abu Dhabi, Aaya has an in-depth understanding of the Emirate and the UAE as a whole. This background has aided her success at KBS Communications, where she is predominately responsible for overseeing the implementation of communications with Arabic speaking media. Her experience spans a variety of government and private organisations, representing diverse industries from retail to tech, luxury, jewellery, fashion and community development.
